The Deputy Head will have the overall responsibility for raising achievement for pupils in receipt of pupil premium. This will involve closely tracking pupil progress and coaching staff to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for these pupils.

Nature of Support 2018/19

Two additional teachers have been deployed to provide support for English and Maths in Key Stage 2. As a result, class sizes in the morning have been reduced.

During the Autumn term, an additional teacher will undertake various interventions to support pupils across EYFS and KS1.

A HLTA will be used to provide additional support for vulnerable pupils based on nurture principles and will implement tailored Speech and Language programmes (EYFS & KS1).

An additional Teaching Assistant will be used to support vulnerable pupils in Early Years.

There will be provision for three Learning Support Assistants (one full time, two part time) to deliver a range of support programmes and targeted interventions.

In addition, three Teaching Assistants have been given additional hours to deliver specific intervention programmes.

A School Link Assistant provides behaviour and emotional support to pupils and parents.

Tutors to assist in supporting pupils with Year 6 maths

Speech and Language support will be delivered for individual pupils.

Counselling (Play and Art Therapy) will be available for specific pupils.

Funding subsidy for curriculum element of school visits (assessed on an individual basis).

Funding subsidy for music tuition (assessed on an individual basis).

 

Measuring the Impact
As a school we measure the impact of this expenditure through monitoring pupils in receipt of pupil premium. This is achieved through lesson observations, book scrutinies and discussion with pupils. Analysing educational achievement of these pupils compared to other pupils is monitored closely.

Each half term pupil progress meetings are held, in which the educational achievement of pupils in receipt of the pupil premium is discussed. There is also an internal review of the schools pupil premium strategy in November, March, and June each year.
