  • Year 2 Trip

    On Thursday the 2nd of Februrary Year 2 will be going on a trip to visit the Herstmonceux Observatory Science Centre as part of their topic Inventors and Pioneer. 

    The children will need to wear full school uniform and sensible shoes please. Children will also need to bring a warm waterproof coat with them.

  • Reindeer Run

    On Wednesday 14th December, To support Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House, all children (from EYFS to Year 6) will complete either a Reindeer Obstacle Course or a Reindeer Run.

    These activities will be happening in school. Along with the £1 donation for wearing Christmas jumpers, children can collect sponsors for taking part in this activity if they wish to, collecting sponsors is not compulsory.

    A sponsorship envelope is attached to this letter. All children will each be given a set of free reindeer antlers for taking part and will wear them on the day.

    On Wednesday 14th December we would like all children to wear their own clothes and a Christmas jumper. We kindly ask that children bring in a £1 donation to put into buckets on the day. Please ensure that your child wears suitable footwear such as trainers as they will be taking part in a sponsored activity.

    We are writing to let you know the arrangements for our Christmas performances. The children in KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2), are working together on ‘The Wriggly Nativity’ and you are invited to attend one of the following performances:

    Thursday 8 th December – performance at 1.30pm OR Friday 9 th December – performance at 9.30am

    We are limited with space in our hall and therefore must limit the number of spaces to two adults, for health and safety reasons. If you have children in more than one year group, please choose one of the performances to attend. Places can be reserved on ParentPay for a charge of £1.00 per ticket, which includes a programme, tea or coffee, mince pie or biscuit. Please be aware once all the tickets are sold for a performance it will no longer show on ParentPay. May we remind you that any photographs of the performance must not be shared on social media and we will endeavour to make time for you to photograph your child at the end of the performance. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the performances.

    The children in EYFS ( Reception classes), are working together and you are invited to attend a performance of ‘The Donkey Seller’ in our school on Wednesday 7th December, the performance will start at about 9.30am.

    We are limited with space in our hall and therefore must limit the number of seats to two adults per family, for health and safety reasons. This also prevents the children from being overwhelmed with the number of adults. Places can be reserved on ParentPay for a charge of £1.00 per ticket, which includes a programme, tea or coffee, mince pie or biscuit.

    May we remind you that any photographs of the performance must not be shared on social media and we will endeavour to make time for you to photograph your child at the end of the performance.

    Eastbrook is a two-form entry school, for children aged 4-11. It is situated on the south coast near Brighton, serving children from the Southwick and Fishersgate communities. The school benefits from wonderful facilities and extensive playing fields, including an indoor swimming pool.     We plan to support this charity by inviting children to wear either spotty or Children in Need clothes to school for a £1.00 donation on the day. Donations may be made via Parent Pay – we will send the link via email next week, or we will have collection buckets on the gate.

    The children will be discussing how we can do something positive to help stop the hurt and pain caused by bullying.
