Uniform

Our academy sweatshirts and cardigans are ‘claret’ with the school logo embroidered onto them.

The four colours represent our four school houses: Bodiam, Arundel, Bramber and Lewes. The waves are there to reflect our proximity to the sea.

We expect our pupils to wear our uniform. By choosing our school we trust that you will give us your full support in this matter. We believe a smart uniform helps children to take pride in their school and provides them with a sense of belonging.

Sweatshirts, cardigans, PE bags, PE t-shirts, swimming hats, book bags and water bottles can all be purchased from the office. Other items of uniform are generally available in local stores.

Winter
White polo shirt, shirt or blouse
Grey trousers or skirt
School sweatshirt or cardigan
Summer
As winter, additionally:
Grey shorts or culottes
Blue and white gingham dress (any style)

Sun hat or cap.

All children should wear sensible black shoes to school. Boots, trainers or flip flops are not suitable for everyday use.

Additionally, we ask that all Reception children should have a pair of welly boots for outdoor learning (these should be named and left in school). Children will be advised what clothing is required for their Forest School sessions and swimming lessons.

PE Kit
Coloured T-shirt (red, yellow, blue or green depending on house colour)
Black, navy or white shorts (not over baggy or cycling)
Plimsolls (trainers not suitable for Key Stage 1 pupils)
Pupils in Y3-6 may wear trainers (non-marking soles)
Drawstring PE bag (suitable for hanging on the pupil's peg)

The PE kit should be kept in a drawstring bag to be hung on the pupil’s peg.

All items of clothing should be clearly marked with your child's name in permanent marker or preferably a sewn in label.

We ask that pupils do not wear jewellery, apart form stud-earrings (which must be removed for all sporting activities) and/or a watch.  Finally, we strongly discourage hairstyles with shaved patterns, 'high' spikes and dyed hair.
