Word Fest Poetry Project

Shoreham Wordfest, supported by Adur District Council, are offering KS2 children at Eastbrook the opportunity to take part in an Online Schools’ Poetry Project. The theme for these online poetry workshops is 'Lines from the Lockdown', a response to the current, very unusual situation which children and their families are experiencing.

Children can access the workshops, watch lots of different poetry videos and get helpful hints on writing their own poem on the Rap'n'Rhyme website here: https://www.rapnrhymers.com/poems-for-our-time.html

You will also find some resources at the bottom of this page to help you generate some ideas for your poem.

If children have written a poem, they can submit it to the Wordfest Schools’ Poetry Project Team by 30th June to be entered into a competition. 9 winning entries from participating school will be chosen to be featured in a 'Lines from the Lockdown' poetry book!

All the information about submitting your poem is here.
